I first arrive the paradise island of Siquijor in August 1983 where I served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer as an architect assigned to the Provincial Development Staff. My co-workers were fellow volunteers, Jim & Laura Good and our Staff Coordinator was Attorney Lozano. I enjoyed very much my life in Siquijor and many friends along the way. I can truly say that I learned the true meaning of the word "hospitality" as I would dare say that the people of Siquijor are among the friendliest and most hospitable people around. I lived with Pablo & Consing Ada and their family. They were truly my "Tatay" and "Nanay" away from home. Though we don't keep in touch much, I will always hold them dear to my heart. My Peace Corps experience lives on forever as I married Siquijorian Anna Marie Jaectin. We've been happily married now for near 14 years and have 2 daughters, Elizabeth (8yrs. old) and Annabella (3yrs. old.). Pohon, mo-retire mi sa Siquijor ! inig tigulang na og na kiang-kiang na! Kumusata kamong tanan mga Bugoy nga Buotan! We are very impressed with this web site! Dodong Abe & Inday Ann ug mga anak

The Siquijornon will be proud to who ever set up this fantastic web site. I was just lucky to find this web site while surfing the internet. Now I can find another source of information of what's going on my Island of Fire. We have a lot of Siquijornon here in Hawaii. In fact we have two organization that celebrate the fiesta of San Francisco de Asis and San Vicenter Ferrer. Some of the family name may sound familiar to you like: Pajente, Malanog, Lontayao, Suan, Pao, Duhaylungsod, etc.

Please email me if you know one the above family. MAHALO AND ALOHA FROM HAWAII

I am the newly elected President of the Siquijorian Fellowship of Sacramento (SFS) 2000-2002. Most of the members of this organization are from the Sacramento Valley and others are from Hayward, Castro Valley, Stockton, South Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Ukiah, Washington D.C., and Siquijor. I was born 57 years ago in Larena, Siquijor. My father was the late Felix Arcaya Manlupig who's father was the late Victorio (Torio) Manlupig who was then married to the late Rosario "Sayong" Omictin who happened to be the mother of Siquijor Island's ex-Governor and Consul Eullogio "Baby" Omictin. My mother is Austacia "Tasing" Samson Manlupig who will be celebrating her 85th birthday on March 29, 2000 in Larena, Siquijor. I am the only child of her marriage to my father, Felix. I came to Sacramento, California at the age of 24 to join my current husband of 32 years, Manuel Samonte Viernes. Manuel and I both worked for the State of California. Manuel with the California Community Colleges as a Financial Examiner for 34 years and I am working with the California Department of Health Services for 27 years as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst. We have only one child, Clifford Manuel, who is 31 years of age and married to the former Christina Porto who was his high school sweetheart. Clifford works as a Staff Services Analyst with the State of California's Office of Emergency Services (OES) and Christina works as a Personnel Specialist with the State of California's Department of Transportation (CALTRANS), They have three beautiful children (my grandchildren) namely, Benjamin Manuel (12 years in June 5th), Steffan Aaron (9 years in Aoril 8th) and Alaina Christina (8 years in August 6th). They are also resident of Elk Grove. Your Web Site looks great! Ultimately, in behalf of the SFS and its members, I would like to thank Leo Mamicpic and Rene Rocamora for the wonderful jobs they did to create the SFS WebPage. We really appreciate your kind accommodation and hard work doing it. Leo: "Daghang Salamat" for being so patient in meeting my needs regarding our Web Site. From the bottom of my heart - May God Bless You Always! You can always count on my support to your cause for Siquijor. I will keep in touch!
Ann Carmencita Manlupig Viernes, President, Siquijorian Fellowship of Sacramento(SFS) 3/2/2000

Great job on this Web Site! In fact, my ultimate comment is -- OUTSTANDING. Keep up the good work. As a Siquijorian by roots and proud of it, I can honestly say -- it's about time someone did it. I was born and raised in the town of Larena by my mother, Tasing Samson Manlupig. My father, Felix Manlupig died when I was small. I have no brothers nor sisters but I was very fortunate to have three cousins, Andrew Samson, Inday Anne Delatado and Jeanne Manalo to play with when we were small. I married Manuel Samonte Viernes, roots from Enrique Villanueva in 1967 and came to Sacramento February 1968. We have one child, Clifford, who married his high school sweetheart, Christina Porto.!

They have three children, Benjamin Manuel, 9 years old, Steffan Aaron, 6 years old and Alaina Christina, 5 years old. Let me tell you this, I was so........excited to see your Siquijor Web Site in my computer at work. In fact, my co-workers gathered around me quickly and were also excited to see your beautiful pictorials. Excellent - narratives too. I hope you don't mind-- my Screen Saver is now the picture of Inday Cyd Quijano and company with a Fire Tree at the background. It's quite an experience to visit your web site. Very informative and I commend your dedication in introducing our Beautiful Island to the World. More power to you and GASA! MABUHAY ANG SIQUIJODNONS!

Happy New Year to all Siquijodnons!! Hope that the year 1999 is a good year for everyone. The new website looks great and also the new photographs are wonderful. I made sure I bookmarked this site so I can open it in a zip when I get homesick (honestly!).

Keep up the good work Mr. Website "bugoy";. Great job!

This is just an update especially my new e-mail address.
